Federal Hemp Ban Could Eliminate Hemp Gummies

Federal Hemp Ban Could Eliminate Hemp Gummies

A Threat to Responsible Hemp Businesses

When we started ZUUZ, the goal was simple: to help people feel better — with products that are clean, consistent, and made with integrity. Over the years, we’ve seen the difference these small, predictable doses can make for people: better sleep, less anxiety, fewer drinks, and more peace.

Now, all of that is being threatened.

Congress is considering an amendment inside the 2026 Agriculture Appropriations Bill that would redefine hemp and effectively ban nearly every hemp-derived THC product in the country.

It’s being marketed as a way to “close loopholes” in the 2018 Farm Bill — but in practice, it would wipe out compliant, state-licensed brands like ZUUZ overnight.

The 0.4 mg Rule That Changes Everything

The proposal includes a clause that limits hemp products to no more than 0.4 mg total THC per package.

To put that in perspective:

  • Minnesota’s LPHE rules allow 5 mg THC per serving and 50 mg per package.

  • Every ZUUZ gummy is tested and certified under these standards.

  • Under the new federal definition, even a single gummy would exceed the limit by more than tenfold — effectively banning every ZUUZ product.

This isn’t about safety — it’s a ban disguised as regulation.

Why It Matters

Hemp-derived products have given millions of adults a safer, measured way to unwind and improve their quality of life.

We’ve heard from:

  • Veterans who finally sleep through the night without heavy meds

  • Parents who relax without turning to alcohol

  • Everyday people rediscovering calm and control

These are responsible consumers — not loophole chasers. Yet under the proposed federal change, all of it could disappear.

Our Commitment

We’re not standing still.

  • Monitoring every federal development

  • Collaborating with compliance partners and policy advocates

  • Preparing alternate formulations if thresholds change

  • Standing up for your right to access safe, transparent hemp products

Our mission stays the same: helping people feel better, safely and intentionally.

How You Can Help

If you care about keeping responsible hemp products accessible:

  1. Stay informed. Follow trusted outlets like Marijuana Moment and MJBizDaily.

  2. Contact your representatives to advocate for fair, science-based hemp policy.

  3. Support compliant brands — the ones that test, label, and disclose everything.

In Closing

The proposed 0.4 mg per package limit isn’t reform — it’s elimination.

It would ban every ZUUZ product and countless others built by honest operators who followed every rule.

But we’re not giving up. We’ll keep advocating for sensible, transparent hemp regulation that puts people first.

Thank you to everyone — veterans, customers, and advocates — who continue to stand with us. Your trust keeps this mission alive.
